What we collect
Nothing directly. This website (foculoom.com) does not set cookies, run analytics trackers, or ask you to log in. We do not collect, store, or process any personal information about you just by visiting the site.
Upvotes across Foculoom blogs
If the upvote feature is enabled on a Foculoom or product blog post, loading the post requests our shared upvote script and clicking the button sends a domain-prefixed post slug to our serverless API (hosted on Cloudflare Workers). Here is what happens with that data:
- The API does not store your IP address.
- It computes an HMAC hash of your IP address using a secret salt. This hash cannot be reversed back to your IP address.
- The hash expires after 24 hours. It is not stored permanently.
- The hash exists only to prevent spam — one vote per person per post per day. No personally identifiable information (PII) is stored.
If the upvote feature is not enabled on a post, no data is sent at all.
Cloudflare
The upvote API runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure. As part of delivering your request, Cloudflare may process request metadata (including your IP address, which we use only for the HMAC hash described above, and timing data) in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not store or log any of this metadata ourselves.
Third-party links
The blog may link to external sites such as GitHub, other documentation, or social media. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Children
Foculoom builds some products for kids. This website (foculoom.com) itself does not collect any personal information from children or anyone else. Our kids' apps have their own privacy practices described within each app.
